Nippon Celery Dish & Five Matching Salt Dishes, Hand-Painted Roses & Raised Gold, Antique, Circa 1911–1921

Soft pink roses bloom along the rim of this Nippon serving set, each one painted by hand and slightly different from the next, so no two salt dishes are quite alike. Between the roses, gold-outlined cream panels hold sprays of raised gold roses and curling scrollwork, and a delicate gold medallion sits at the center of every piece. The celery dish is finished with pierced handles at either end, and five matching open salt dishes complete the set.

Each piece carries the green “Hand Painted Nippon” wreath mark associated with Morimura Bros., consistent with Japanese export porcelain made circa 1911–1921, more than a century ago.

Set the celery dish down the center of the table and a salt at each place, and even an ordinary dinner feels like an occasion.

Celery dish measures 12⅝" x 5⅞"; salt dishes measure 3¾" x 2¼" each.

Condition: Excellent antique condition. Bright, with minimal wear.
