An antique Rosenthal porcelain dish from the company’s Delft series, decorated in cobalt blue with a quiet Dutch canal scene: a moored sailboat, a small arched footbridge, a farmhouse with a tall pointed tower, and a line of trees along the water’s edge. A raised, scroll-molded scalloped rim frames the scene. Rosenthal’s Delft line paid homage to traditional Dutch blue-and-white pottery while being made in true porcelain.

Marked on the reverse with Rosenthal’s vase-form “R&C” mark and “Delft” in script. The R&C initials were used until 1906, when Rosenthal adopted its familiar script mark, placing this piece at more than a century old.

Measures 8⅛" in diameter. A couple of flea bites are noted on the rim, which do not impact this piece from a display standpoint. There is one small chip and a few small dark spots of kiln grit on the unglazed foot ring.
