Rosenthal Studio-Linie Coupe Chop Plate, 12¾" — Cobalt Rose, Pattern R1149, Germany
A 12¾" porcelain chop plate (round platter) in Rosenthal’s smooth coupe shape, from the Studio-Linie, decorated in pattern R1149, a now-discontinued decor: two full-blown cobalt roses gathered with leaves, buds, and a flowing ribbon, set against fine white porcelain. The cobalt floral decoration matches that of Rosenthal’s Romanze line, designed by Bjørn Wiinblad, here on Rosenthal’s plain coupe shape rather than the embossed Romanze form.
Marked on the reverse with Rosenthal’s script crown-and-crossed-rods mark, “studio-linie,” and “Germany.” The Studio-Linie mark was introduced in 1961.
No chips or cracks; the cobalt decoration is crisp, with no wear.
