Theodore Haviland Limoges Belfort Porcelain Luncheon Service for 10 with Serving Pieces, Hand-Painted Rose Cameo & Garland, Antique, c. 1915–1925

A genuinely complete antique Theodore Haviland Limoges service in the Belfort pattern (Schleiger 345), dated by Replacements Ltd.'s pattern records to circa 1915 as the starting year for this pattern, and the old red underlined Theodore Haviland Limoges mark caps the age of this set at 1925— thus, this set definitively clears a century of age. Eighty pieces in total:

• 10 luncheon plates (8½")
• 12 salad plates (7⅜")
• 12 bread plates (6⅜")
• 11 dessert bowls (5")
• 11 saucers (5¾")
• 12 cups (3½")
• 9 butter pats (3⅛")
• 1 oval vegetable bowl (9¼" x 7⅛")
• 1 gravy boat with attached underplate (7⅛")
• 1 handled cake plate (10⅝" handle-to-handle)

The pattern's rose-cameo-and-garland border is confirmed hand-painted, with raised, hand-tooled paste gilding verified through direct physical examination — visible surface texture to the touch, and genuine piece-to-piece variation between the repeating rose cartouches, the clearest signature of a decorator's hand rather than a transfer press.

Condition. This service is arranged as a clean service for 10, plus extras.

The core service for 10 is free of chips and cracks, with two exceptions: one of the ten luncheon plates has a repaired chip at the foot ring (smooth to the touch), and there are nine butter pats rather than ten.

• Oval vegetable bowl: light crazing throughout and two repaired rim chips; discoloration is visible at the repair sites
• Gravy boat: fine hairline on the underside of the base. The piece rings clear when tapped, the line does not catch a fingernail, and it is not visible from the interior. We believe the hairline is limited to the glaze.
