An antique Rosenthal porcelain serving dish from the company’s Delft series, decorated in cobalt blue with an atmospheric winter harbor scene: a windmill on the shore, a distant church spire and townscape, moored sailboats and rowboats, and figures walking along the frozen bank. Billowing clouds and deepening blue shading give the scene a soft, painterly depth.

The dish is Rosenthal’s Savoy shape, with an asymmetrical Rococo silhouette, molded scrollwork, and a pierced (reticulated) rim along its upper edge.

Marked on the reverse with the Delft series’ blue vase-form R&C mark and “Delft, Germany,” together with Rosenthal’s green crown-and-crossed-rods R.C. mark and the shape name “Savoy,” plus the painted number “110.” The R&C marks were used until 1906, placing this dish at well over a century old.

Measures 9¾" × 10⅛", 2¼" deep.

Condition: The foot ring on the underside has a small flake, outlined by a curved crack, that remained attached and has been stabilized; it is smooth to the touch and the dish rings clear when tapped. The foot ring also shows light wear consistent with age and kiln grit from manufacture. The decorated surface and glaze on the face are free of chips, cracks, and wear.
